letters in the mail

I love getting things in the mail.

My latest issue of Time Out Chicago arrived (my first magazine subscription in some time) to rescue me from the boredom of being sick. also I received a letter from my school. I tend to open letters from my school with some lackluster, usually because they are bills or some sort of bad news.

This one, however, was a short and polite letter informing me that I have been put on the Dean's List for my "superior academic attainments" last semester. I thought that was kind of cool. I was a little disheartened that it arrived on a sick day in which I missed two classes and am already falling behind this semester, but what can you do? some days you're up and some you're down.

I suspect that my prospects of getting straight A's again this semester rest squarely on my ability to attend as many classes as possible and doing as much homework as I can, two areas that I tend to, shall we kindly say, short cut in favor of more exciting things in life, such as, but not limited to, the arrival of my laptop (last wednesday, skipped english class), hanging out with my friend Marilyn (advanced fiction homework set aside for later) and sitting on the couch watching cartoons with Eric.

but anyway, go me!

cheers.
