ode to new (happy new year)
All the things I want to do this year:
Try dyeing my hair blond (or have blond highlights).
Visit the Zen Buddhist Temple.
Finish a rough draft of my writings about the Clark St. Union.
Hang out with friends.
Sure, I could lose ten pounds.
Decorate my room with the curtain panels I got from Urban and continue the blue orange pink theme they started.
Travel with Eric to Ireland and England.
Figure out how the Park District handles the public swimming pool, so I can swim a lot.
Fix my bike.
Get to know my family.
Throw out all my old makeup and get new stuff.
Make as much coffee and toast as I can for Eric.
Find my way to the beach once a week.
Yoga.
Dollar beer nights at the Moon Bar.
I'll add more later (feel free to add some of your own!)

sweet goals darlin'. i've no doubts you'll conquer em all and more along this new year, set your mind on the mission and overcome these desires with experience and memories. i'm interested in the ways you make your way through your wishes. i thinking the beach one is jus gonna have ta wait for much better beach weather..lol. i do miss the beaches also. happy trails darlin' .......love ya much.
Thanks Daddy! I am so sorry I didn't get back to you on New Year's Eve. We ended up closing early and I got all caught up in the revelry on the streets of Chicago and being with my sweetie that I totally forgot about you! Please forgive me.
Here's to 2005.
As if there was something working against me, that thing I wrote about getting all new makeup showed up today when I reached in for my eyebrow powder and noticed the hinge on the two pieces was broken and it will no longer close correctly. Of course the makeup inside it that I have had for at least three years is fine, but the darn thing is busted!
And I was going to take the makeup thing off the list, thinking it was too materialistic.
Make up that is 3 years old??? Please throw it all away!!! Old make up is bad for your skin. I cant remember how long it is that its keepable, I want to say 3-6 mths somewhere in there. But after that it should be replaced.
hey darlin',
worry not of that call, i had hoped and then figured that you'd find more happiness on new years eve than sitting around waiting ta call yer ole man.
i am happy that you did find someway to cut a lil loose on that such a great party day. when i was your age, there were very few party opportunities i missed. therefore, i completely understand and am pleased it turned out this way.
there is no better way to break in a new year than party-ing with the one ya love. so there ...lol.
love to ya darlin' and many many more happy new years await you and eric.
well, I'm happy to say that even though I missed dollar beer night today at the bar, I managed to squeeze in a yoga session early this afternoon (though I was caught red handed by the girl roommate when she noticed the case lying on the entertainment stand.), write about fourteen extravagant pages for two of my classes (god how I love the pressure of deadline!) and attended class faithfully with good cheer. I wrote a scene today that will round out the goth girl piece so I can finally finish that up and get to some other union members in my story.
Makeup...I guess we'll save for another day.
